The Innovative School of Temple Beth Sholom is a Reggio inspired Jewish community dedicated to joyful learning and Tikkun Olam, the Jewish value of making the world a better place. Our holistic approach to admissions considers each family’s mission-alignment with our school philosophy, embodiment of our KEHILLA values, and commitment to our Temple Beth Sholom community. Elementary school applicants are additionally assessed on their academic profile, character and citizenship.

Admissions for New Families
Below you will find the admissions requirements and deadlines for applicant families for the 2027-2028 school year.
Step 1: Submit Your Application
Submit your online application by December 18. Applications received after our deadline will be automatically placed on our waitlist
Children who are attending programs at the Innovative School of Temple Beth Sholom are required to have completed the age-appropriate vaccine schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
Pre-K Applicants
- Application must be submitted prior to tour
- Parent interview will be scheduled once application is submitted
- Progress Report or Teacher Narrative is required and may be emailed to admissions@innovativeschool.org by December 18.
Elementary Applicants
- Teacher recommendations must be emailed to admissions@innovativeschool.org by December 18. Download Teacher Recommendation Form Here
- For grades 1-5: Current term/prior year progress reports must be uploaded prior to December 18.
- Once your application is complete, our admissions team will reach out to schedule your child’s Visit Day and your Parent Interview. This is an opportunity for your child to experience our school and community firsthand, and to provide our educators with a better sense of your child as a classmate and a learner.

Step 3: Admissions Decisions Announced
Admissions decisions will be announced on February 10 for the 2027-2028 school year. Families will receive one week to deposit and secure their spot for the following school year.
Enrollment for Current Families
As you know, we have transitioned to a continuous enrollment system. This means that your child’s enrollment will automatically renew each year. For families looking to make a change in their child’s education, there will be an “opt-out” period each year, during which you may withdraw your child for the following year if needed. Please be on the lookout for emails regarding the start of the opt out period in December.
Sibling Policy: If you are planning to enroll a sibling who will be new to the Innovative School for 2027-2028, you must submit an application for the new sibling by the December 18 deadline. While your child will receive priority consideration, you will receive an admissions decision in February.
