The Bereshit studio
is a state-of-the-art, creative, exploratory and experimental environment where the image of the child and the internal workings of their minds are at its core. It is a place where the “100 Languages” of possibilities find expression through the sophisticated availability of materials in the 7 Days-of Creation area as well as the Tinkering that occurs in the amazing Innovation Lab.

Innovation Lab
This year the new Innovation Lab was created for our elementary level. This has been a dream for a long time. So many people, past and present, have created the conditions for such a sacred space in our school. The learners, especially with their inquiry, curiosity, and discoveries, have brought us to this moment. We all stand in awe of the shoulders of future giants.

The Transformation studio
Our Transformation Studio is an evolving environment designed to empower our learning community to engage in and co-construct meaning. This space offers open-ended experiences and is designed to be a fluid evolution of possibilities.
In the Innovation Lab we incorporate botany, geology, biology, earth sciences, and astronomy. We incorporate systems design thinking, design principles, and digital and 3D printing technology. We bring the language and affordance of materials to explore and express what our learners will be examining. As a result, the learners access an examination of life on a whole other dimensional level. They cultivate the artist’s courage and heart, the scientist’s transcendent rigor, and the designer’s future-forward vision. Through encounters with the natural world, they nurture a love of nature informed by the sensitivity of indigenous people and Judaic perspe ctives about the intelligence and sentience of our precious earth.
