This program provides a fun learning environment for all skill levels. Children will be challenged to reach their fullest potential developing their skills and practicing drills like: Defense (Footwork, Agilities, Communication skills); Offense (shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding); Teamwork (problem solving, leadership, active listening)
COOKING with Ms. Diana
In this class children will cook and learn about foods from different countries and cultures. All classes will be age appropriate and geared towards their maximum development. Children will learn step by step about preparing food. They will also learn about the ingredients being used (where they come from, nutrients, measurement and more).
CREATIVE MOVEMENT with Ms. Ambar/Ms. Lee
A creative movement class where sports, movement, exercise, and fun experiences are combined to promote learning in a different way. The classes will help children with posture, flexibility, fitness, balance, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Children will have the opportunity to learn and recognize the different parts of their body and how they can function while developing their gross and fine motor skills. In doing so, children will feel inspired to shine in their own special way!
ECO-TOT-ART with Ms. Yoli
Children take part in caring for our planet by using recycled materials to create their own planet-inspired masterpieces. This class will offer multi-sensory, messy, and open-ended experiences where children will have the opportunities to strengthen their disposition for curiosity and creativity. All materials are included.
KIDOKINETICS® by KIDOKINETICS®
Kidokinetics inspires kids to get up, get moving, and get in shape as we set the tone for a lifetime of physical fitness. In this unique program, children will learn about the human body (anatomy, physiology, and nutrition), movement, and exercise, and have fun in a non-competitive, safe, and encouraging environment. Children will learn a NEW sport EACH week, working on basic skill development, balance and coordination. Some of our sports offerings include Badminton, Basketball, Bowling, Football, Frisbee, Golf, Hockey, Jump Rope, Lacrosse, Obstacle Course, Parachute Games, Push-ups, Sit-ups, Soccer, T-ball, Tennis, Track & Field, and Volleyball.
KINDERBOTS ROBOTICS by Snapology®
Children will begin to explore the world of robotics as they build simple models that teach the fundamentals of robotic design. Whether learning about sensors while building drills and magic wands or discovering ways through which gears and pulleys create movement while building helicopters and robotic dogs, your child is sure to have a great time.
SCIENCE LAB with Ms. Feliza
Your child’s imagination and senses will be stimulated by this hands-on class, where we conduct experiments designed to stimulate the imagination and the senses. Children conduct experiments, observe, compare, create, and solve problems in multiple scientific disciplines. All materials are included.
YOGA with Ms. Lee
In this yoga class we’ll focus on all-around wellbeing. In yoga this is achieved with Pranayama (breathing exercises) Asana (Yoga Poses) Meditation (Relaxing Techniques). These Yoga practices will be achieved in an accessible way for all ages with play through songs, music, movement, mindfulness, and creative visualization. Let’s have fun and explore downward dog while barking, frog pose while hopping around the room and Savasana (corpse pose) while experiencing calming music. This class will increase strength, flexibility, and focus.
GYMNASTICS with Coach Andrea
Gymnastics class is designed for children to explore different movements, practice coordination, and enhance their strength and flexibility. In each session, children will climb, run, and jump on different surfaces, while engaging in active play, music, and imagination. They will also work with numbers, colors, and shapes to build problem-solving skills. Each class incorporates a few basic gymnastics skills to develop fundamental gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and overall physical coordination.
Kindergarten - Fifth Grade Clubs
Music with Mrs. Yael
Music classes will be filled with movement, singing and fun musical games. Learners will
be introduced to composers of all time periods from Baroque to 21st Century music. They
will learn basic rhythms, reading notes, composition and basic keyboard playing. We also
learn to appreciate a variety of music from all over the world including India, Africa, Israel,
South America and more.
Chess with George
Players will understand pattern recognition, learn technical chess skills and train for
various styles of playing. (Aggressive, Defensive, Positional and Tactical)
Yoga with Mrs. Barbara
Get involved and be part of the fun! Yogi’s will explore body movements and connect with
joyful feelings.
Journalism 101 with Ms. Jacquelynn
Get the inside scoop on becoming a reporter from a published journalist. Learners will
explore different forms of media and create a monthly newsletter, which will be distributed
to their peers. Perfect for budding writers and photographers, these cub reporters will also
help produce the Innovative School’s yearbook. It’s also a great way to show published
work for middle school admissions.
Self Defense with Sensei Ben
Classes will include traditional Karate exercises including jackknives and push-ups.
Learners will participate in warm-up exercises, introduction of katas and will practice the
techniques learned. They will gain flexibility, coordination, posture and stamina.
Please bring Sweatpants and shirt allowing freedom of movement during the first class.
Karate Gi (uniform) will be required for continued classes. Belt testing and ceremony will
be conducted at the end of each three-month term.
Basketball with GALA EMPIRE
The Gala Empire program creates a challenging yet enjoyable learning environment that
caters to individuals of all skill levels. Through basketball, we teach today’s youth
important intrapersonal skills that contribute to their overall success. Among these skills:
effective communication, leadership, and social skills, all of which are crucial for personal
and professional development.
Incredible You with Miss Mancy (Nancy Amar)
I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E You! Class is Back! Our children need a space where they can feel
good being themselves, learning about who they are, and how to be a kind citizen of the
world. Miss Mancy is bringing back our most popular Growth Mindset Class. Every week
we explore one of the growth mindset concepts to become an I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E. kid!
Through activities, books, games and art projects, children explore important life lessons
about kindness, perseverance, giving back and just being their incredible selves
Art and Science with Miriam
The Art and Science after-school program will expose learners to creating artwork with
clay, paper, textiles, wire, recycled, repurposed, reclaimed objects, and mark-making
tools from charcoal and graphite to markers and paints. We will explore t cosmos through
our planetarium and wonder together through the lens of science (botany, environmentalscience, biology, geology, and astronomy). We will discover the intersectionality of art with
sciences as ways to define and express our inner-creative selves.
Athletics with Brad LET’S GET ACTIVE!
Athletes will participate in various fundamental skills, drills and rules of sports.
Beginners Spanish
Our Spanish curriculum is designed to engage language learners in a fun, learner-centered
immersion environment. New vocabulary and concepts are presented in contextualized,
bite-sized portions and reinforced through games, songs, and engaging activities. You MUST enroll for all three
sessions a week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays)
Cheer and Acro Fun for Little Stars
This after-school class is designed to introduce learners to the basics of cheerleading and
acrobatics in a supportive and encouraging environment. No prior experience is
necessary—all that’s needed is a willingness to learn, have fun, and build confidence! LET’S GO!
Hebrew Adventure Club with Ms. Barbara
Our class is designed to explore the Hebrew language through exciting experiences and
engaging conversations. Through interactive games, songs, and creative exercises, your
child will embark on a joyful journey to discover the basics of conversational Hebrew.
Enroll your child in the Hebrew Adventure Club and watch them blossom into confident
young speakers of Hebrew. Whether your goal is to connect with family heritage, prepare
for future travels, or simply enrich your child’s cultural understanding, our class promises
a fulfilling and enjoyable learning experience.
Book Club with Ms. Rachel
Afterschool book club for third through fifth graders that will encourage a love for reading
through engaging experiences and discussions. Each session will involve reading a book or
story as a group. Discussions will cover characters, themes, and aim to improve
comprehension and critical thinking skills. Book club sessions may include projects
related to the story, games to reinforce learning, or even writing short stories inspired by
the books we will read. The book club will foster a social environment where learners can
share their love of reading!
Garden Club with Ms. Eve
In Gardening Class, learners will engage in a hands-on gardening experience. This weekly group will focus on everything it takes to grow plants from building soil to selecting crops and planning meals with the plants we grow.
Cooking Class with Ms. Maria
Cooking is a perfect place to become acquainted with different types of food. We will
introduce mathematical skills, stimulating creativity and practice how to follow directions.
The chefs will use their feelings while preparing various dishes by observing the taste and
feel of each ingredient. Your child will learn the responsibility of learning to have a better
quality of life through nutrition.
Robotics
CAJE-Miami partners with the world-renowned Yerucham Science Center to implement the Miami Jewish Day School Robotics Initiative. This year-long program focuses on STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education by introducing students to programming, coding, teamwork and problem-solving. Students use Lego EV3 kits as they build robots and tackle specific missions and challenges. Teachers participate in professional development provided by the Yerucham Science Center throughout the year. In the spring, a delegation of students and coaches from Yerucham visit participating schools for a week of coaching and to lead the annual Miami Jewish Day School Robotics Festival.
